How Dubai Public Transport Fare Zones Work
Dubai is divided into 7 public transport fare zones. Your fare is determined strictly by the number of zone boundaries you cross during a single continuous journey:
Trip starts and ends in the same zone, OR total journey distance is less than 3 km across two adjacent zones.
Trip crosses one zone boundary, travelling between 2 adjacent zones (e.g. Zone 5 to Zone 6, or Zone 6 to Zone 2).
Trip crosses more than two zones (e.g. travelling from DXB Airport in Zone 5 down to Dubai Marina in Zone 2).
Major Interchange & Transfer Hubs
Union Station
Deira central underground hub with connections to intercity buses to Sharjah and Fujairah.
BurJuman Station
Bur Dubai interchange with four street-level exits serving banking, embassies, and retail.
DMCC Station
Direct pedestrian footbridge connecting Red Line to Dubai Tram JLT platform.
Jabal Ali Station
Dedicated cross-platform transfer connecting Expo 2020 branch and UAE Exchange branch.
